TONIGHT'S MUST-SEE

"Saturday Night Live," 10:29 p.m., NBC. Getting some of its best ratings in years, NBC keeps adding pre-election episodes. This one has Ben Affleck hosting, with music by "American Idol" winner David Cook. There will be more Monday, when an election-eve special includes previous bits.

TONIGHT'S MIGHT-SEE

"Legend of the Seeker," 5 and 9 p.m., WGN (Oceanic Channel 3). Here's the sort of show TV hasn't had lately — an epic adventure with a sense of magic. Years before New Zealand became the backdrop of the "Lord of the Rings" movies, producers Rob Tapert and Sam Raimi made the "Hercules" and "Xena" series there. Now they're back. "Legend" lacks the sly "Hercules" humor. Based on Terry Goodkind's novels, it's a serious view as two earnest (and attractive) people try to save the world. Some plot devices seem arbitrary; people become bull-headed for no great reason. Some triumphs seem too convenient. Still, "Legend" delivers strong stars (Craig Horner, Bridget Regan) and a big story.

OF NOTE

Football, 2 p.m., ABC. It's Texas and Texas Tech. They take this quite seriously.

"Primeval," 6 p.m., BBC America (Oceanic Digital Channel 341). Nick and his team are captive, not far from the barely contained creatures. There's lots of action in a strong season finale.

"Archangel," 7 p.m., ION (Oceanic Channel 27). As Daniel Craig's second James Bond film nears, here's a peek at his pre-Bond days. This was made in Europe as a TV movie in 2005, but will be new to most Americans. A scholar (Craig) visits Russia, where an old soldier has a secret. Soon, he's on a cross-country search, joined by a scheming newsman (Gabriel Macht) and the soldier's intense daughter (Russian actress Yekaterina Rednikova).

"Knight Rider," 7 and 8 p.m., NBC. NBC tends to make late changes on Saturdays, so nothing is definite. For now, however, it has these reruns: In the first, Mike recovers pieces of his lost memory while fighting a lethal drug. In the second, he tries to stop a rogue Marine from blowing up a bridge.

"CSI: Miami," 7 p.m., CBS. When a man is killed during an eclipse of the sun, people suspect the killer isn't human.

"CSI: Crime Scene Investigation," 8 p.m., CBS. There's a country feeling to this one, which involves rodeo murders. Jewel and Shooter Jennings (Waylon's son) perform; Jewel's husband, rodeo champ Ty Murray, appears as himself.

"Law & Order: Special Victims Unit," 9 p.m., NBC. This rerun views a complex case involving kids, AIDS and a doctor's homeopathic methods.
