Tickets are on sale for a concert showcasing The Las Vegas Tenors, three vocalists who regularly sell out gigs in Sin City with their “popera,” combining opera and pops tunes. The trio is composed of Bobby Black (pop rock, classics and opera); Bill Fayne (opera and Broadway); and Teddy Davey (theater, pop, classical Italian songs). An eight-piece orchestra will accompany the singers. A portion of the proceeds will go to the family services nonprofit HUGS.

“Re•Vision” is the title of a concert presented by Convergence Dance Theatre, a dozen dancers and choreographers led by artistic director Jennifer Butler Shannon. Dynamic movement, with a backdrop of projected images and sound, creates a contemporary exploration of life and love.

Grammy Award winning producer, composer and artist Daniel Ho, left, presents a concert to benefit Kalihi-Palama Pediatrics Care Programs and St. Elizabeth’s Episcopal Church Outreach Ministries. Ho has recorded nearly 20 albums and is best known for his talents on the slack-key guitar, which have won him three consecutive Grammys.

Béla Fleck and The Flecktones, right, bring their irresistible mix of jazz, bluegrass and pop for a pair of Toyota Pops concerts with the Honolulu Symphony. Fleck (with banjo) and crew will perform songs from their upcoming holiday album “Jingle All the Way.” But there’s more Fleck before the concerts: A documentary featuring the banjo virtuoso, “Throw Down Your Heart,” is screening at 7:30 p.m. today at the Doris Duke Theatre as part of a special American Film Institute series and Friends of Film Friday; see story on Page 37. In another tie to the Honolulu Academy of Arts, members of Friends of Film Friday can get a 20 percent discount off tickets to the pops concerts.

Cross some names off that holiday list at the Mission Houses Museum’s 35th annual Holiday Craft Fair. In addition to a wide variety of unique hand-crafted items, there will be food and entertainment. The museum will be open, too, including the special exhibit, “Fundamental Fibers: Tapa, Lauhala and Quilts” (entry is free, too).

FESTIVAL: DEC. 15-21
Registration is now open for the 2008 Winter Solstice Fire Tribe Gathering festival. This multi-day community celebration features song, chant, dance, drumming, poetry, visual art and spontaneous sacred ceremony. Early registration ends Nov.16; late registration is through Dec. 12. Fees are $35 and up, based on number of days attending, choice of accommodations and optional meal plan.
