TONIGHT'S MUST-SEE

"Ghost Whisperer," 7 p.m., CBS. Here's a pivotal episode, propelling the show in fresh directions. That starts on the eve of a wedding. Suddenly, the bridesmaid is getting messages about a past she doesn't remember. The story is so-so. (What cop takes a shot at a silhouette, without knowing who it is?) Still, the final minutes are deeply involving.

TONIGHT'S MIGHT-SEE

"Crossroads," 7 p.m., CMT (Oceanic Digital Channel 587). As Def Leppard and Taylor Swift step onstage, it might seem like a night of opposites. One is English, the other American; one is rock, the other country. One started in 1977; the other was born in 1989. Still, they blend well. Two of the Leppard guys were only 19 and 15 when their group started; they blend well with Swift's mix of youthful energy and brilliant songwriting.

OF NOTE

"Survivorman" season opener, 7 p.m., Discovery Channel. Here's what you need to know the next time you're lost in the Sierra Nevada. Les Stroud shows how to haul a fire in his backpack — and how to turn his guitar into an animal trap. He's alone, even working the camera himself, in a fairly interesting episode.

"True Hollywood Story," 8 p.m., E. Former wrestling star Hulk Hogan has faced brutal news, including his divorce and the serious car accident that left his son in jail for a half-year. Here's a profile of the family.

"NCIS," 8 p.m., CBS. "The Ex List" has been shelved, so we're stuck with reruns. In this one, Jimmy Palmer (Brian Dietzen) is an assassination target.

"Law & Order: Criminal Intent" season opener, 9 p.m., USA Network. A doctor rushes home from church and finds a murderer; soon, Goren and Eames are investigating people around the doc and the church. The result is marred by a murky plot and Janel Moloney's curiously understated performance as the preacher's wife.

"Lipstick Jungle," 9 p.m., NBC. Remember that this show has switched nights, with "Life" moving to Wednesdays. Tonight brings key guest stars — Rosanna Arquette as the mother of Nico's young lover, Vanessa Marcil as the new manager of Wendy's husband.
