"Ports of Call" will be the theme of the Honolulu Symphony's 12 Annual Symphony Ball, set for March 21 at the Kalakaua Ballroom of the Hawai'i Convention Center.
Rich Blangiardi, president and general manger of KGMB9, will be chairman of the event.
For the first time at a Symphony Ball, the orchestra's two maestros — principal conductor Andreas Delfs and pops principal conductor Matt Catingub — will conduct the orchestra as part of the evening's entertainment.
Award-winning chef Beverly Gannon of Hali'imaile General Store of Maui, will provide the cuisine.
The Symphony Ball, staged earlier than normal next year, will precede the orchestra's highly anticipated and inaugural Hawai'i Beethoven Festival.
"The Honolulu Symphony provides important social and educational value, while culturally enriching the lives of so many people of all ages across our beautiful State," said Blangiardi. "The Symphony is a treasure most worthy of our love and Aloha Spirit."
