Prosecutors yesterday filed petitions to Family Court on a pair of juvenile suspects who allegedly robbed two women at gunpoint in Kalihi.
No one was injured in the July 15 holdup at Gulick Avenue and North School Street. The male suspects, both 17, allegedly fled with the handbags of the victims, ages 20 and 19, who were walking home after work at 2:30 a.m. when they were robbed.
Police identified the gunman through investigation and arrested him on July 22 after he was identified by the victims in a photo lineup. The boy was arrested for first-degree robbery and his case was sent to Family Court for possible charges.
The second suspect identified the second suspect last month and arrested him at the Hawai'i Youth Correctional Facility, where he was being held for an unrelated offense. The boy was arrested Oct. 30 and allegedly admitted his involvement in the July 15 robbery to police.
