Weather: Trades to die off starting tomorrow

Moderate trade winds will blow across much of the state today, with clouds and showers focused mainly in windward and mauka areas, the National Weather Service said.

By mid-week, the trade winds will weaken, allowing afternoon sea breezes and nighttime land breezes to develop, forecasters said.

As a result, clouds and showers will occur mainly over interior and mauka areas of the islands during the afternoon and evening hours. Vog will also be prevalent across much of the state during the latter half of the week.

Here's a closer look at what to expect during the next few days:

Veterans Day: Isolated showers. Partly cloudy, with a high near 84. East wind around 15 mph, with gusts as high as 20 mph. Chance of precipitation is 20 percent.

Tonight: Scattered showers. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 69. East wind between 11 and 13 mph. Chance of precipitation is 30 percent.

Wednesday: Isolated showers. Partly cloudy, with a high near 82. Southeast wind around 10 mph. Chance of precipitation is 20 percent.

Wednesday night: Isolated showers before midnight. Widespread haze. Partly cloudy, with a low around 68. East wind between 6 and 8 mph. Chance of precipitation is 20 percent.

Thursday: Isolated showers after noon. Widespread haze. Partly cloudy, with a high near 82. South wind around 8 mph. Chance of precipitation is 20 percent.

Thursday night: Isolated showers before midnight. Widespread haze. Partly cloudy, with a low around 68. Northwest wind between 5 and 7 mph. Chance of precipitation is 20 percent.
