Warriors hire Larry Harris to be assistant coach

OAKLAND, Calif. — The Golden State Warriors have hired former Milwaukee general manager Larry Harris to be an assistant coach.
The Warriors said Tuesday that Harris, the son of veteran NBA coach Del Harris, will replace Larry Riley on coach Don Nelson's staff. Riley took over as Golden State's assistant general manager last week when president Robert Rowell abruptly fired assistant GM Pete D'Alessandro, who had been top basketball executive Chris Mullin's right-hand man for five seasons.
Harris worked in several jobs in the Bucks' front office, but has never been an NBA assistant.
