PRINCETON, N.J. — Jordan Culbreath rushed for a career-high 276 yards and two touchdowns as Princeton ended its season with a 28-10 win over Dartmouth today.
Culbreath scored on the Tigers second play from scrimmage on a 58-yard run. He swept to the left and broke one tackle before swinging back to the middle and racing to the end zone for the only score of the first quarter.
Princeton (4-6, 3-4 Ivy League) never trailed. The Big Green (0-10, 0-7) finished winless for the first time since the 1883 season when they played just one game.
Blake Clemons first career interception gave Princeton the ball at the Dartmouth 20 to start the second quarter. Four plays later, quarterback Brian Anderson scored on a 2-yard option run for a 14-0 lead.
Dartmouth capped an 11-play drive with a 22-yard field goal by Foley Schmidt before halftime.
Princeton opened the second half with a nine-play drive capped by Andersons 1-yard touchdown pass to Billy Mitchell for a 21-3 lead. The drive was highlighted by a 21-yard run by Culbreath and a 22-yard catch by Adam Perry.
Peter Pidermann returned the ensuing kickoff 85 yards for the Big Greens only touchdown.
Princeton answered with a five-play, 65-yard drive fueled by Culbreath. After an 8-yard rush, he ran 52 yards to the Dartmouth 5. He scored two plays later on a sweep to the right side.
Culbreaths 276 yards rushing was Princeton's second-best single-game performance behind only Keith Elias 299 yards in 1992. The Princeton defense held Dartmouth to minus-11 yards rushing.
