Prosecutors yesterday charged a Makiki man in connection with the stabbing of a cab driver during a robbery.

Courage Lee Elkshoulder, 34, of a Hassinger Street address was charged with second-degree attempted murder at 5 p.m. yesterday. He is being held in lieu of $150,000 bail at the main police station cellblock pending an initial appearance tomorrow at District Court.

Elkshoulder, accompanied by attorney Eric Seitz, voluntarily surrendered to police Friday at 3:36 p.m. at the main station. Honolulu CrimeStoppers had released surveillance photos of the robbery suspects on Thursday taken on Pensacola Street.

The second suspect is believed to have left the islands, according to police.

Police said the robbery in Manoa was reported on Nov. 15 at 1:20 p.m. The male cab driver, 54, was stabbed in the neck during a struggle. The victim was taken to The Queen's Medical Center in serious but stable condition, according to police.
