If Honolulu Medical Examiner autopsy findings confirm police suspicions, the deaths of a Ko Olina couple could be ruled O'ahu's fifth murder-suicide this year.
The bodies of a 40-year-old man and his wife, 36, were discovered at about 5 p.m. Friday at their townhouse on Olani Street. The woman's decomposed body was found inside the house while the man was found hanging in the home's enclosed garage. The ME's office today declined to release the names of the Ko Olina couple. Excluding the Ko Olina case, four women and a 7-year-old boy have been killed in murder-suicides this year. Combined with four other deaths tied to domestic violence, the total accounts for nearly half of O'ahu's 19 homicides. Police responded to the home after the man's co-workers went to his residence to check on him because he had not reported to work for several days.
