Meeting on challenges facing mentally ill parents
A community meeting on Dec. 6 at the state Capitol will highlight the challenges facing parents with serious mental illnesses.
The free event is open to the public and runs from 9 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.
Presenters include Martha Rasmus, the director and founder of the Invisible Children's Project in Wisconsin, and well-known ukulele player and teacher Roy Sakuma, who grew up in a household with a mentally ill mother and brother.
Parents with mental illnesses, their children and mental health professionals are encouraged to attend.
