Leashed dogs allowed on Kauai bike path

Kaua'i dog owners will be allowed to walk their leashed pets on a designated portion of a bike path from Lihi Park to just south of the picnic shelter closest to Kealia Bridge starting Monday.
Kylan Dela Cruz, deputy director of the Department of Parks and Recreation, said the county will review the change after an 18-month trial period.
"This will be a new endeavor for everyone," said Dela Cruz. "Hopefully, the rules will be followed and the shared use path can be enjoyed by all users."
Dog handlers on the path must adhere to the following rules:
Anyone who violates the rules regarding dogs on the shared use path will be cited.
