LAHAINA, Maui — Tom Pritchard had 19 points and nine rebounds for Indiana, which held on for an 81-79 victory over Chaminade on Wednesday in the seventh-place game of the EA Sports Maui Invitational.
Pritchard was nearly the goat for the Hoosiers (3-2) as he missed three of four free throws in the final 46 seconds. He made the second of two with 4.7 seconds left to give Indiana an 81-79 lead.
Noah Gottlieb's running 3-pointer from the left side at the buzzer fell short and the Division II Silverswords (0-3) saw their record drop to 5-68 in the 25 years they have hosted the tournament.
Both teams had outstanding shooting games with the Hoosiers hitting 58.5 percent (30-of-51), while Chaminade was 28-of-58 (48.3 percent).
Devan Dumes added 14 points for Indiana, which was 14-for-27 from the free-throw line.
Joel Smith had 20 points and 10 rebounds for Chaminade, which outrebounded the Hoosiers 32-27.
