A malfunction in an overhead line on Kamehameha Highway triggered a power failure last night in the area of McGrew Point in 'Aiea.

The blackout, reported at 6:15 p.m., affected about 260 Hawaiian Electric Co. customers. Power was restored about an hour later to all but about 50 customers, said HECO spokesperson Jan Loose.
