Police have classified the death of a 4-year-old Wai'anae boy as an unattended death pending autopsy results by the City Medical Examiner's Office.

According to police reports, the victim's father had placed a broken television on top of a broken stove and moved both out to the front porch area on Friday.

The boy's dad told police he saw his son crawling into the stove on Saturday at about 4 p.m. and told him to get out. As the dad turned away he heard a crashing sound, police said, and when he looked back he saw his son unconscious on the ground and the broken television set next to him.

The victim was transported to a local hospital where he later expired, police said.
