Mental health seminar on soldiers' situations
A brown bag seminar on mental health challenges for Hawai'i's soldiers and their families is set for tomorrow.
The event, sponsored by Mental Health America of Hawai'i, is set for 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at Catholic Charities, 1822 Ke'eaumoku St.
A panel of experts from the Hawaii Army National Guard, Tripler Army Medical Center and other agencies will discuss post-traumatic stress disorder and other mental health problems, suicide rates among military members, and how the community can help soldiers as they prepare to go into a combat zone — and when they return.
