CFB: Harvard beats Lafayette, 27-13

Associated Press

EASTON, Pa. — Cheng Ho and Gino Gordon both scored first-half touchdowns as Harvard jumped out to an early lead and topped Lafayette 27-13 today.

Ho rushed for 108 yards and Chris Pizzotti threw for 231 yards and another touchdown to lead Harvard (2-1). The Crimson also got two long field goals from Patrick Long.

Harvard opened up a 10-3 lead after the first quarter on Ho's 1-yard TD run. The Crimson extended their lead when Chris Lorditch hauled in a 67-yard scoring strike from Pizzotti early in the second.

Lafayette (3-1) responded with a touchdown pass from Rob Curley to Shaun Adair. But Gordon's 4-yard scoring run with 4:09 left in the first half gave Harvard a 24-10 advantage, and the Crimson leaned on their defense the rest of the way.

Curley was 23-for-39 for 220 yards for the Leopards but threw two interceptions, including one inside the Harvard 20-yard line in the second quarter. The Harvard defense also sacked him three times.

Lorditch finished with four catches for 106 yards for Harvard.
