There's much to do, see and taste at the 32nd annual Day at Queen Emma Summer Palace.

That includes entertainment by Jerry Santos and friends, Punahou Alumni Glee Club, Kaha'i Topolinsky and Halau Ka Pa Hula Hawai'i, Tony Conjugacion and Halau O Wainohia, Vicky Holt Takamine and Halau Pua Ali'i Ilima, Kualoa, the Royal Hawaiian Band and others.

There's storytelling, native Hawaiian arts demonstrations, jams, jellies, chutney, haku lei and home-baked goods and more food (including seafood by chef Elmer Guzman of Poke Stop). Especially for the kids: a Keiki Krafts Korner; especially for thirsty adults: a beer and wine garden.

The admission fee also gets you into the palace's current exhibit, "Beaten and Basted:

A Collection of Rare Kapa and Quilts."

Need another reason to visit? It's your last chance to see a smoking jacket Queen Emma made by hand for King Kamehameha IV. After today, it will be returned to proper archival conditions to prevent further wear.

The event is a fundraiser for the Daughters of Hawai'i in its efforts to preserve Queen Emma Summer Palace and the Hulihe'e Palace in Kona.
