Learn to cope at grief workshop
St. Francis Hospice and the Hawaii Donor Family Council offer a "Holiday Grief Workshop," 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. Oct. 18 at the Ko'olau Golf Club.
Topics for the one-day workshop include "In Memory of You" by Bernadette Baraquio, and "When Life Gives You Scraps, Let's Make Quilts" by Christa Freeze of St. Francis Hospice.
Cost: $50 ($65 after Tuesday, includes lunch, refreshments and materials).

PET BLESSING AT KAPI'OLANI PARK
Unity Church of Hawai'i, which resurrected its Blessing of the Animals in 2006, will celebrate its third annual event with a ceremony at 3 p.m. tomorrow at Kapi'olani Park, across from Waikiki School (look for the banner off Monsarrat Avenue).
Bring your feline, canine, bird or other animal companion — or a photograph, if your pet doesn't travel well.
