Yankee Stadium's final home run ball to sell at Oct. 18 auction

The final home-run ball hit at Yankee Stadium and original architectural drawings for the ballpark are among more than 400 items that will auctioned at New York's Madison Square Garden on Oct. 18.
Guernsey's Auction House of New York will conduct the sale of Yankee memorabilia, which include a contract for the building of Yankee Stadium, a Lloyd's of London insurance policy covering Babe Ruth and Lou Gehrig, game-worn items that belonged to Ruth, Gehrig, Joe DiMaggio and Mickey Mantle, and numerous Yankee world championship rings.
The Yankees, who have claimed a record 26 World Series titles, played their final Major League Baseball game at Yankee Stadium on Sept. 21 against the Baltimore Orioles.
Jose Molina hit the final homer in the 85-year-old park's history as the Yankees won 7-3.
A total of 160 architectural drawings used to build Yankee Stadium in the 1920's will be available at this weekend's auction.
