Diamond Head summit trail closing for a month
The Department of Land and Natural Resources reminds the public that it will close the summit trail at Diamond Head State Monument for one month beginning Monday for maintenance of the slopes and rock scaling of potential rockfall hazards along the trail.
The park area inside the crater including the parking lot and adjacent fields, the restroom, and information booth will remain open to the public during most of the work.
DLNR will also do rock scaling work above the Kahala Tunnel, the only entrance into the monument. While the tunnel is closed for the work around Nov. 13-20, the entire park will be closed for safety reasons.
