Man wounded in Wai'anae

A 22-year-old Wai'anae man was taken to The Queen's Medical Center in critical condition yesterday morning after he was assaulted — or possibly shot — during a confrontation in Wai'anae, police said.
Police were told that shots were fired in the incident. They said the man had a head wound, but not necessarily a gunshot wound.
Police later arrested a man, also 22, on an outstanding warrant and said he may be a suspect in the case.
Bryan Cheplic, a spokesman for the city Emergency Services Department, said paramedics were called to a location on McArthur Street about 6:45 a.m., where they treated the injured man.
Cheplic said the man was taken "to a local area trauma center" in critical condition.
