A 61-year-old man critically injured when he fell from the bed of a moving pickup truck on Sept. 29 died Thursday at The Queen's Medical Center, according to police vehicular homicide investigators who are listing the death as a traffic fatality.

The Honolulu Medical Examiner's office today identified the victim as Jose Mendoza. An autopsy listed cause of death as craniocerebral injury due to a fall from the rear of a moving pickup truck and manner as accidental.

The accident occurred Sept. 29 at Likini Street and Likini Place in Aliamanu as furniture was being moved in a rented pickup truck, police said.
