Security upgrades planned at State Hospital in Kaneohe

The governor has released an additional $457,000 for security improvements at Hawai'i State Hospital in Kane'ohe.
The money will be used for new fencing with access gates, to install a surveillance camera system, new monitors for the security office and related electrical upgrades.
The total project cost is estimated to be $5.1 million. Gov. Linda Lingle previously released $4.7 million for design and construction.
Construction is scheduled to begin next month and be completed in May 2009.
