University of Hawai'i quarterback Greg Alexander, whose second-half heroics helped the Warriors beat Nevada, was named the Western Athletic Conference Offensive Player of the Week today.
Alexander, who entered the game in the third quarter, completed 17 of 22 passes for 205 yards and two touchdowns, none bigger than his game-winning 24-yard pass to Malcolm Lane with 20 seconds left in the game.
The 6-foot-3, 230-pound junior also was the team's leading rusher with 21 yards.
His key 10-yard scramble on 3rd-and-9 kept the winning 9-play, 77-yard drive alive and enabled the Warriors to beat Nevada 38-31 Saturday at Aloha Stadium.
UH (4-4 overall and 3-2 in the WAC) plays at Utah State Saturday.
