NEW YORK — The Arena Football League realigned its divisions Monday, placing the two-time (2006-07) Eastern Division champion Dallas Desperados in the Southern Division.
The Desperados spent the previous five seasons in the National Conference East after spending their first two seasons in the American Conference.
In the Southern now are Dallas, Georgia, Orlando and Tampa. The Eastern will be made up of New York, Cleveland, Columbus and AFL champion Philadelphia.
Other AFL divisions are the Central (Chicago, Colorado, Grand Rapids and Kansas City) and the Western (Los Angeles, San Jose, Utah and Arizona).
New Orleans recently dropped out of the AFL, leading to the realignments.
