San Francisco wins Kent Youel event

San Francisco gave itself an 11-shot cushion after Tuesday's first two rounds of the Kent Youel Invitational and coasted in yesterday to win by that same margin at Kapolei Golf Course.
The Dons shot 296 the final day for a 54-hole total of 3-over-par 867. UC Irvine (290) and San Jose State (292) tied for second at 878 and Oregon (291-879) was fourth. Host Hawai'i was 11th in the 15-team women's tournament, with rounds of 305-306-305.
Irvine's Jane Chin won medalist honors by nine shots, closing with a 69 for a 13-under 203. USF's Christina Stockton (75) was next and San Jose State's Erica Moston (70) was another shot back.
Junior Corie Hou had the best Hawai'i finish, tying for 17th at 222 after closing with a 69. Senior Carolina Perez (77—229) shared 38th, freshman Kelcie Kawano (80—233) was 50th and junior Erin Matsuoka (79—234) was 53rd.
Kamehameha graduate Mari Chun, a senior at Stanford, tied for fifth at even-par 216. Former state high school champion Britney Choy, playing for New Mexico, shot 81—231 and Maui's Elyse Okada, playing for Oregon State, shot 79—236.

WARRIORS HOST KAUA'I TOURNEY NEXT WEEK
The University of Hawai'i men's team will host the inaugural Kaua'i Collegiate Invitational Monday to Wednesday at Puakea Golf Course. The first and final rounds begin at 7:30 a.m., with Tuesday's second round beginning at 11 a.m.
Along with the Warriors, participating teams include Boise State, Gonzaga, San Diego, San Francisco, Utah and Osaka Gakuin from Japan.
UH will host the Turtle Bay Intercollegiate Nov. 10 to 12. After the winter break, its next two tournaments are the 19th annual UH-Hilo Invitational, Feb. 4 to 6, and the John A. Burns Intercollegiate, Feb. 18 to 20 at Leilehua.
