Australians go 1-2-3 in Waikiki Roughwater Swim

Australians dominated the Waikiki Roughwater Swim race today.
Trent Grimsey of Brisbane won the race to lead a 1-2-3 finish by Australians. He completed the 2.384-mile course from Kaimana Beach to Duke Kahanamoku Beach in 47 minutes, 59 seconds.
"It was a little more choppy than I would have liked it, but it was good," Grimsey said. "This is such a beautiful course."
Josh Minogue placed second in 52:16, and Brendan Capell was third in 52:27.
John Flanagan of Honolulu placed fourth overall with a time of 52:45.
Noa Sakamoto of Honolulu was sixth in 53:12. He won the race last year.
Luane Rowe of Sydney, Australia, dominated the women's division, finishing with a time of 55:01.
Elliko Heimbach, a member of the University of Hawai'i swim team, placed second in 1:03:24.
More than 740 swimmers from around the world participated in the swim.
