Baseball: Hanna washes out Game 1 of A's-Orioles doubleheader

BALTIMORE — A steady rain, courtesy of Tropical Storm Hanna, has forced the postponement of the opener of a scheduled day-night doubleheader between the Oakland Athletics and Baltimore Orioles.
The game was set to start at 1:05 p.m. EDT today. The second game, scheduled for 7:05 p.m., was to be played if the rain subsided by early evening.
The opener of the doubleheader was originally scheduled for Sunday afternoon, but was moved to Saturday because of a scheduling conflict: The Baltimore Ravens have a home game against the Cincinnati Bengals on Sunday.
On Friday night, the A's and Orioles played the latter part of their game in the rain. Oakland won 11-2, extending Baltimore's losing streak to seven games.
