The Hawaii Police Department is warning the public about a new e-mail scam.
A Hilo man received an e-mail at his workplace on Thursday from a recipient posing as "FedEx Online Delivery Post." The e-mail solicited personal and confidential information, claiming the information was needed for a bank draft worth $800,000.
Police confirmed with FedEx that the e-mail was bogus and part of a scam.
Police caution the public not to respond to suspicious e-mail, especially any requesting personal information.
