Century's longest solar eclipse visible if you're willing to travel

Solar eclipse alert: The longest total solar eclipse to occur this century will be July 22, 2009 — visible from a narrow corridor through northern India, eastern Nepal, Bangladesh, Bhutan, the northern tip of Myanmar, central China and the Pacific Ocean, including Okinawa, the Marshall Islands and Kiribati. Cities experiencing totality include Surat, Varanasi, Patna, Thimphu, Chengdu, Chongqing, Wuhan, Hangzhou and Shanghai. Totality will last for up to 6 minutes and 39 seconds, with the maximum eclipse occurring at about 62 miles south of the Bonin Islands, southeast of Japan.
