Honolulu Liquor Commission fines restaurants for violations

The Honolulu Liquor Commission last week fined Monterey Bay Canners and Tony Roma's Famous for Ribs for selling liquor to minors.
Monterey Bay Canners pleaded no contest and was fined $1,000 but the commission suspended $250 of the fine provided that the licensee has no similar violations within the next year.
Tony Roma's Famous for Ribs pleaded no contest and was fined $1,000 for providing liquor to minors.
The commission also fined Ruth's Chris Steakhouse for interfering with liquor commission investigations by announcing the arrival of commission investigators, a spokesman said.
Ruth's Chris Steak House pleaded no contest and was fined $1,000 for violation of a rule that prohibits obstructing, hampering or interfering with investigations or Liquor Commission operations.The steak house also was fined $250 for an employee registration violation.
