Arts district Sidewalk Sale tomorrow benefits Boys & Girls Club

Shops belonging to The Arts District Merchants Association will hold a Saturday Sidewalk Sale outside sites on Nuuanu, Pauahi and Bethel streets, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 13. A portion of the proceeds will benefit the Boys & Girls Club of Hawaii.

Nuuanu Gallery at Marks Garage will host "T-Party," a one-day T-shirt sale featuring unique and limited edition T-shirts by select artists and designers. Also joining the "T-Party" are Soo Zou sail bags and Meesah jewelry.

The Boys & Girls Club of Hawaii is a non-profit organization dedicated to inspiring Hawaii's youth to become responsible citizens. BGCH operates 12 sites on Oahu and Kauai. Known as "The Positive Place for Kids," BGCH's clubhouses and outreach sites provide guidance-oriented character development programs six days a week for children 7 to 17 years old.

BGCH is a subsidiary of the Boys & Girls Clubs of America and has been operating in Hawaii since 1976. The organization provides services to more than 17,500 Hawaii youths each year.

The Arts District Merchants Association, is a domestic non-profit 501(c)(4) Corporation with 50 members from galleries, shops, restaurants, and bars in Honolulu's Chinatown.

The Arts District spans just over 12 blocks, bounded by Bethel and Maunaka Streets and Nimitz Highway and Beretania Street. It is home to numerous cultural institutions, performing arts venues (including the historic Hawaii Theatre), galleries, and arts events/activities.
