Weather: Sccattered, isolated showers expected

Winds will be light for the next several days and will allow for scattered showers with local downpours mostly during afternoon and evening hours through the weekend, the National Weather Service said.

Vog could also become more widespread during the weekend due to the light and variable winds.

A high pressure area is expected to build up north of the islands early next week bringing a gradual return of trade-wind weather.

Here's a closer look at the weekend forecast:

Today: Scattered showers, mainly after noon. The rain could be heavy at times. Partly cloudy, with a high near 85. North wind 5 to 7 mph becoming south. Chance of precipitation is 30%. New rainfall amounts of less than a tenth of an inch possible.

Tonight: Scattered showers, mainly before midnight. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 71. East wind around 5 mph. Chance of precipitation is 40%. New rainfall amounts of less than a tenth of an inch possible.

Sunday: Isolated showers. Partly cloudy, with a high near 85. East wind 5 to 7 mph becoming south. Chance of precipitation is 20%.

Sunday Night: Isolated showers. Partly cloudy, with a low around 71. Northeast wind around 7 mph. Chance of precipitation is 20%.

Monday: Isolated showers after noon. Partly cloudy, with a high near 87. Northeast wind at 7 mph becoming south. Chance of precipitation is 20%.

Monday Night: Isolated showers. Partly cloudy, with a low around 71. East wind between 7 and 9 mph. Chance of precipitation is 20%.
