COLUMBIA, Mo. — Missouri wants to score on every possession. Against Nevada, the No. 6 Tigers almost did.

Chase Daniel threw for 405 yards to set the school career passing record and Missouri scored on its first 10 possessions in a 69-17 romp yesterday over Nevada.

"We want to score every time we touch the ball," Daniel, a Heisman finalist a year ago, said. "We know that's probably not going to happen."

It almost did. Daniel threw for four TDs and was 23 for 28 to take Missouri (3-0) to seven touchdowns and a field goal before exiting in the third quarter. His backups, Chase Patton and Blaine Gabbert, led two more scoring drives before Missouri was finally forced to punt late in the fourth quarter.

By the time Daniel was done, he had shattered predecessor Brad Smith's record. He has 9,513 yards passing. Smith finished with 8,799 yards in four seasons as a starter.

He still holds the school record for total offense with 13,088 yards, a record Daniel has an outside chance at.

The Tigers gained 651 yards and averaged 10 yards per play. The 69 points tied a team record set against Kansas in 1969.

Nevada (1-2) fell for the second straight time to a Big 12 opponent after losing to Texas Tech a week ago.

"Pass defense is all about putting pressure on the quarterback and we just couldn't get that done today," Nevada coach Chris Ault said.

NO. 10 WISCONSIN 13, NO. 21 FRESNO STATE 10

FRESNO, Calif. — P.J. Hill ran for 112 yards and Allan Evridge threw a touchdown pass before leaving with an injury to help the Badgers (3-0) beat the Bulldogs (1-1) and spoil the biggest game in Bulldog Stadium history.

Wisconsin scored its only points of the second half on a 23-yard field goal by Philip Welch for a 13-7 lead. That proved to be enough to win because Kevin Goessling missed three field goals, including a 35-yarder in the fourth quarter and a 51-yarder after a blocked punt in the third.

NO. 22 UTAH 58, UTAH STATE 10

LOGAN, Utah — Matt Asiata rushed for three touchdowns, Brian Johnson threw for two more, and the visiting Utes (3-0) rolled up 445 yards, while holding the Aggies (0-3) to 116 in winning their 11th straight victory in the series.

WEBER STATE 44, DIXIE STATE 7: Cameron Higgins, a Saint Louis School alum from Hawai'i, threw for 333 yards and a career-high five touchdown passes, including three to Baldwin High alum Cody Nakamura, as the Wildcats (2-1) routed the Rebels (1-2) at Ogden, Utah.

San Jose State 28, San Diego State 10: Kyle Reed ran for three touchdowns and completed his first 12 passes, and Yonus Davis rushed for 143 yards and a touchdown to lead the Spartans (2-1) past the Aztecs (0-3) at San Jose, Calif.
