A Fire Department rescue crew brought a man involved in a domestic dispute to shore shortly after 6:30 this morning, Fire Capt. Terry Seelig said.

Police called the Fire Department for assistance, explaining that the man got into a dispute, entered the ocean off Waikiki Beach and then ran into problems, Seelig said.

He said a rescue boat crew pulled up to the man, talked to him for a while and determined he was not in distress.

The man was reluctant to get into the boat but rescue crew members eventually convinced him to and he was brought to shore at Kaimana Beach, Seelig said.

The man did not require any medical attention, Seelig said.
