KANSAS CITY, Mo. — Tyler Thigpen, a second-year pro who set passing records as an All-American for Coastal Carolina, will start at quarterback for the Chiefs on Sunday against Atlanta.
Kansas City coach Herm Edwards made the announcement Wednesday.
Thigpen came in for Damon Huard last week and hit 14 of 33 passes for 151 yards and one touchdown and one interception in a 23-8 loss to the Oakland Raiders. His only other game action came in 2007 in a 24-10 loss to San Diego.
