A 46-year-old man was arrested yesterday in Waikiki for allegedly stealing 35 boxes of Magic Kiss lipsticks valued at $300 from a retail store.

The suspect, who listed no permanent local address, was arrested at 3:15 p.m. at 2370 Kuhio Ave. and booked for second-degree theft.

Loss prevention officers from the retail store, who saw the man place the items in a duffle bag, confronted him 20 feet outside the store after he allegedly walked past four open and manned cash-register lanes.

The suspect's criminal record includes 40 convictions.
