Arts event takes place tonight

Tonight's Third Thursday event features artist talks at Chinatown-downtown galleries as studios keep their doors open late.

Participants include:

-- The ARTS at Marks Garage, a project of Hawai'i Arts Alliance, 1159 Nu'uanu

Ave., 521-2903; Hawaii Craftsmen Presents Fiber Hawai'i 2008. Opening reception 5:30 to 8 pm. tonight.

-- Chinatown Boardroom, 1160 Nuuanu Ave., 585-7200; 6:30-7:30 tonight, with Kimo Hollinger as speaker. He's a big wave surfer from the

1960s, former lifeguard, retired fire captain and an author.

-- Pacific Traditions Gallery, 19 Pauahi St., 741-4612; On view, "The F Word: Images of Forgiveness" exhibit.

-- Kim Taylor Reece Gallery, 1142 Bethel S.t, 293-2000; Live Music by Sean
