TONIGHT'S MUST-SEE

"Grey's Anatomy," 8 p.m., ABC. Next week, this show starts its new season. First, catch a rerun of this terrific, two-hour season finale. In one darkly moving story, a young man is encased in hardening concrete. In another, Izzie and Alex realize just how much the mental state of Rebecca (formerly Jane Doe and Ava) has crumbled. Meanwhile, Lexie uses her office duties to learn key information about the test George flunked. And Cristina's funk is ousted by the "sparkle pager."

TONIGHT'S MIGHT-SEE

"Burn Notice," 10 p.m., USA Network. It's the "summer finale," with two fairly good stories. One involves a kidnapping scheme. Trying to foil it, Michael pretends to be a drunkenly corrupt chauffeur The other brings back the imposing Carla, played by Tricia Helfer of "Battlestar Galactica." That leaves us hanging until next season.

OF NOTE

"CSI: Crime Scene Investigation," 7 and 8 p.m., CBS. In the first rerun, three of the victims have green blood. The second was co-written by Chuck Lorre, who has run TV shows starring Roseanne Barr, Cybill Shepherd and Brett Butler. It's a murder story, centering on an overbearing actress who stars in a comedy.

"It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia" season-opener, 7 p.m., FX. This offbeat show is usually quite funny. Tonight, however, it's just messy and overwrought. There's a lot of commotion about hunting and eating humans, but little of it is clever. Try again next week.

"Smallville" season-opener, 7 p.m., CW (Oceanic Digital Channel 93). Chloe's powers have been discovered and Clark's have been taken away. Meanwhile, the Justice League searches for Clark.

"Supernatural" season-opener, 8 p.m., CW (Oceanic Digital Channel 93). Dean is back from Hell, literally. The problem: He doesn't know how he got here.

"Flashpoint," 9 p.m., CBS. When a girl is kidnapped, police are startled to find there's a second victim. Now Jules tries some desperate negotiating.

"ER," 9:01 p.m., NBC. Here's a rerun of the season finale, which has big trouble and Steve Buscemi.
