Big Island man, 85, missing since Friday

Big Island police are seeking public assistance in locating an 85-year-old Mountain View man suffering from Alzheimer's disease who has been missing since Friday morning.

Loy Hancock was last seen at 10 a.m. at the home he shares with his son in the Puna District's Eden Roc subdivision. He has not yet been located, Big Island police said today.

Hancock is 6-feet tall, about 172 pounds with balding white hair and hazel eyes. He was last seen wearing a plaid long-sleeved shirt, blue jeans, blue-silver tennis shoes and glasses. He uses a walking cane and may be wearing a lauhala hat.
