The book, which includes articles, short fiction, poetry and oral history excerpts, was produced to coincide with the statewide tour of the Smithsonian exhibit "Key Ingredients: America By Food," now at Kapolei Public Library.
Among the authors and poets in "We Go Eat" are Lee Cataluna, Catherine E. Toth, Joan Namkoong, Lee Tonouchi, Kaui Philpotts, Betty Shimabukuro, Amalia Bueno, John Wythe White, W.S. Merwin, Cathy Song and Wing Tek Lum. The book was edited by veteran journalist Susan Yim, former managing editor of The Advertiser.
Authors will read and talk about food from 1 to 2 p.m. The fair is from 9 a.m. to 11 p.m. Admission is free.
