Charges are pending against a 34-year-old man who allegedly identified himself as a bank robbery suspect when he surrendered yesterday at the police Chinatown substation.

Peter J.W. Jones, who gave no local address to police at booking, was arrested for first-degree robbery at 12:55 p.m. Jones, whose ethnicity is listed as Korean on HPD's arrest log, is being held at the main police station cellblock with charges expected tomorrow.

On Friday, Honolulu CrimeStoppers released bank surveillance photos of the man who robbed Bank of Hawaii's Kaimuki branch at 3600 Waialae Ave. Thursday at 2:30 p.m. The suspect allegedly approached a teller, demanded money and indicated he had a weapon but none was seen.

The suspect had a "ying yang" tattoo on his chest.
