CFB: QB Locker out 6-8 weeks for Washington

Associated Press

SEATTLE — Washington quarterback Jake Locker has a broken right thumb and will be sidelined up to eight weeks.

Locker was injured Saturday night against Stanford. Coach Tyrone Willingham says Locker had surgery Monday to repair the fracture and that the typical recovery time is between six and eight weeks.

Locker threw for 512 yards and a touchdown and ran for 180 yards and three scores. He was injured throwing a block in the second quarter of the Huskies 35-28 loss to Stanford. Washington is 0-4.

Redshirt freshman Ronnie Fouch has been moved into the starter's role.
