Hawaii women's volleyball sweeps San Jose State

Using a revamped line-up, the University of Hawai'i women's volleyball team extended its winning streak to 11 matches, sweeping San Jose State today.
The Rainbow Wahine (12-2, 5-0 Western Athletic Conference) defeated the Spartans (6-9, 2-3), 25-17, 25-20, 25-20, in San Jose, Calif., to complete their three-match road trip undefeated.
The Rainbow Wahine outhit the Spartans .317 to .167, led by 10 kills by Stephanie Ferrell, who was playing in place of injured Kanani Herring, who was limited to backrow duties. Ferrell hit .471.
Outside hitter Jamie Houston had nine kills and Tara Hittle added eight. Middle blockers Amber Kaufman and Nickie Thomas each had seven kills and hit .400.
Setter Dani Mafua did not play and Aneli Cubi-Otineru did not start.
