PULLMAN, Wash. — A Washington State official has told The Associated Press the school has hired Portland State's Ken Bone to be its new basketball coach.
Bone would replace Tony Bennett, who last week left for Virginia.
The official requested anonymity because WSU has not announced the hiring. A news conference is scheduled for Tuesday.
Bone did not immediately return messages.
Bone has led Portland State of the Big Sky Conference to two consecutive NCAA basketball tournaments.
