Hawaiian Air pilots picket at airport

Hawaiian Airlines pilots have picketed at Honolulu International Airport in an effort to jump-start contract negotiations with management.
The Air Line Pilots Association, International said Monday that the airline shows no intention of wanting to achieve a fair agreement.
In response, the airline issued a statement that said, "Hawaiian has offered ways to further raise the pay of its pilots without worsening what is already a competitive disadvantage for the company."
In addition to the picketing, the pilots have bought newspaper ads in Honolulu and mobile billboard ads in Las Vegas.
Their current contract was negotiated in bankruptcy in 2005. Hawaiian emerged from bankruptcy in June of that year.
The pilots say a meeting with a federal mediator is slated for Tuesday.
