A 69-year-old woman was critically injured when she was struck by a car as she crossed a street in 'Aiea yesterday afternoon.

Police said the woman was crossing Kaimakani Street when she was hit by a car that was making a left turn from Moanalua Road. The woman was in a crosswalk at the time of the 2:09 p.m. accident, police said.

The woman, an 'Aiea resident, was taken to The Queen's Medical Center in critical condition with head injuries, police said. The 61-year-old driver of the Chevy Malibu was not injured, police said.

Speed and alcohol were not factors in the crash, police said.
