Advertiser Staff

Looking for an offensive boost, the University of Hawai'i Rainbow Wahine pounded out 10 hits, including three home runs, to rout Utah State, 9-1, yesterday at Rainbow Wahine Softball Stadium.

The game was called with two outs in the bottom of the sixth inning when Hawai'i scored twice, putting the eight-run mercy rule into effect.

Tanisha Milca, Clare Warwick and Audrey Andrade all went deep to help Hawai'i improve to 18-20 overall and 6-4 in the Western Athletic Conference. Utah State fell to 8-26 and 1-6.

Stephanie Ricketts gave up a run and two hits in pitching the distance to improve to 13-7.

The two teams meet in a doubleheader today starting at 2 p.m. Courtney Baughman will start the opener and Ricketts is scheduled to start the second game for the Rainbows.
