Oahu wins AJA baseball title

Tournament MVP Cy Donald had three hits, including two doubles, and one RBI as O'ahu beat Hawai'i, 6-4, yesterday to win the State AJA Baseball Championship Tournament at Les Murakami Stadium.
Sean Murphy added two doubles, a triple and one RBI for O'ahu, which was represented by 'Ewa.
Adam Inaba earned the victory, scattering seven hits over seven innings and leaving with a 5-1 lead. Sean Yamashita pitched the ninth for the save.
Shaye Miura and Justin Kekaualua each had three hits for Hawai'i.
Earlier, Kainoa Santos had two hits and three RBIs as Kaua'i beat Maui, 6-3, for third place.
SOFTBALL
HPU, UHH SPLIT
Sherise Musquiz pitched a five-hitter with one strikeout and no walks as Hawai'i Pacific beat Hawai'i-Hilo, 3-1, yesterday to salvage a split of a Pacific West Conference doubleheader at Howard A. Okita Field.
Casey Sugihara hit a two-run single and Krystal Plunkett an RBI single for the Sea Warriors (34-10, 16-4). Lauren Holmes had two hits for the Vulcans (22-20, 11-8).
In the opener, Amber Waracka pitched a five-hitter with two strikeouts and three walks, and Sierra Green doubled to lead off the sixth and eventually scored the go-ahead run in Hilo's 2-1 victory.
Green also had an RBI triple, while Kozy Toriano had two hits for HPU.
GOLF
OCC EVENT RETURNS
After a 10-year hiatus, the Oahu Country Club Women's Invitational is returning.
The 36-hole tournament, open to amateur women golfers 15 and older with a GHIN handicap index of 24.5 or less, will be played June 22 and 23 at the Oahu Country Club.
Awards will be given for a gross winner from the championship flight and net winners in flights.
